Traffic info - Zeller Weinfest

Traffic regulation at Zell wine festival / bus traffic

On the weekend of June 28 to July 1, the traditional wine festival of the “Zeller Schwarze Katz” will once again take place in the center of Zell. In response to popular demand, the wine festival will take place on the market square and from Lindenplatz to just before the “Port”.

At the beginning of the festival route, there will be amusement rides for young and old and a huge bouncy castle for the little ones at the junction of Johannesgasse.

In between, there will be wine stands, a beer and non-alcoholic drinks stand and seating. On the market square, Zell's winegrowers will be offering a wide selection of wines from our “Zeller Schwarze Katz” vineyard. In the wine lounge there will be sparkling wine and various cocktails.

All this makes it necessary to close the thoroughfare from Lindenplatz to the Port. Together with the police, municipal administration, district administration and bus companies, we have developed a traffic concept that will direct traffic as follows:

Principles:

a) The city center is closed to vehicles of all kinds from Wednesday, 26.6.24 17:00 to Tuesday, 02.07.24 18:00 due to construction, wine festival and dismantling

b) Diversion via the B 53 / Bullayer Bridge

c) Parking areas in Kaimt-Süd / Kaimt Ortslage / Merl Kampplatz / parking lot Moselufer behind the Sparkasse / Verbandsgemeindeverwaltung

d) Access by public transport is possible with the following lines:

Cochem - Zell line 711 and night bus line 791
Barl-Zell-Bullay line 721
Traben-Trarbach - Zell line 720
Blankenrath- Zell line 750 + 752

The Moselpromenade / Lindenplatz thoroughfare will be closed from both directions.

From the direction of the bridge:
The passage from the bridge is closed. Residents free. From the port, residents may drive along the Moselpromenade as far as the immediate restricted area at the junction with Johannesgasse. From the junction with Johannesgasse, the passageway is closed to all road users with concrete cubes and traffic equipment. Parking on the roadway between the port and the festival area is prohibited, as the rescue lane must be kept clear here for any emergency medical or fire department operations. Vehicles parked there will be towed away for a fee.

From Merl:
The Moselufer / Lindenplatz / Schlossstraße bypass remains possible. The festival area with concrete cubes and traffic facilities will be closed before the first ride.

1. the Balduinstraße will remain closed all day for vehicles of all kinds. The passage for emergency vehicles with a width of 3.50 m must be maintained at all times.

2. local resident traffic to Oberstraße / Cuxborn / Römerstraße / Kirchgasse remains possible. Only residents are permitted to enter. This is to prevent motorhomes and motorcycles from unnecessarily using the emergency access route. Parking on this route is not permitted. The passage must be kept clear for rescue and fire department vehicles. It is tolerated that guests of the accommodation establishments in the Oberstraße - Cuxborn - Römerstraße area drive in. They must then unload their suitcases quickly and clear the detour route immediately. This means that they must be present at the vehicle during loading and unloading.

3. buses for school transport will run from Wednesday, June 26 until Tuesday, July 2 from the elementary school / IGS first in the direction of Bullay - over the bridge - to Zell to Lindenplatz and back to Bullay and then via the B 53 in the direction of Traben-Trarbach. The Brandenburg stop is not available during this time. Pupils will have to use the other stops.

4. public transport line 720 from Traben-Trarbach stops at Hieronimi, then continues on the B 53 towards Bullay. The Brandenburg / Lindenplatz / Schlossstraße / Merl stops are not served.

The public transport line 720 in the direction of Traben-Trarbach runs via Bullay-Brücke / B 53 / Kaimt-Nord / Kaimt - Süd / Kreisel Kaimt. In Kaimt, the stops Kaimt IGS, Kaimt Untere Barlstraße (B53), Kaimt Wohnmobilstellplatz (near the swimming pool) and Kaimt Grundschule are served. Please use these stops.
Schedules:  www.vrminfo.de/fahrplanauskunft

5. On Saturday and Sunday, the Scherer bus line 721 runs hourly from Bullay station to Lindenplatz.

6. parking spaces are available in Kaimt-Süd. Parking spaces have been created in the area between the bridge and the Kaimt fairground. Access via the Kaimt traffic circle - motorhome parking area. The riverside path is narrow and can therefore only be used by one-way traffic coming from the motorhome site in the direction of the town. Outflowing traffic via the local area or via the road “In den Sandgärten” in the direction of the bridge. From the direction of Merl, in addition to the areas at Kampplatz in Merl, the areas of the parking lot in the area of the emerging MoselPark and below Schlossstraße are available.

All parking spaces are free of charge.

7. a request to all hosts: inform your guests in good time about the changed traffic routing. Up-to-date information and links to the timetables can be found on our homepage.

The traditional wine festival is a highlight of our town's festivities. We therefore ask the residents of the city center for their understanding for the necessary traffic restrictions. We wish all visitors to the wine festival a safe journey and enjoyable hours with music and wine.
