The parking meters, traffic signs, and frames have now been delivered and installed.
This means that the new regulations on paid parking and resident parking can come into force on Monday, September 8, 2025, and the parking meters will be activated.
This means that all parking spaces between the ARAL gas station and Merlerstraße along the thoroughfare are subject to fees. The old town from the port to the church above Moselstraße/Moselpromenade is reserved for residents with their primary residence in this area and with a resident parking permit. In the “old town,” parking is prohibited except for residents.
Parking tickets can be purchased at the parking meter with cash, debit card, and soon also with credit card. Drivers can also log in to the partner “Parkster” via their cell phone and book a parking ticket. For more information, please visit: https://www.parkster.com/de/
It is also possible to purchase a “season ticket” from the city administration. This is valid for either a full year or six months. There are no further time divisions. A ticket for the second half of 2025 costs €100, regardless of its period of validity. A “season ticket” for 2026 is valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026, and costs €200. This can be applied for from November 2025.
The application form for the “season ticket” can be found here: https://stadt-zell-mosel.de/stadt-und-bewohner/mobilitaet
Residents of the old town must apply for a resident parking permit from the Zell (Mosel) municipal administration. The administration will issue the green parking permit upon payment of an administrative fee. Parking fees as such do not have to be paid in the old town. The few parking spaces there are reserved for residents whose primary residence is in this area. This is intended to promote living in the old town and make it more attractive.
The continuous markings in the old town are not parking spaces, but are road edge markings. Residents may park outside the roadway in accordance with the rules of the StVO (German Road Traffic Regulations). This means that property entrances and exits must not be blocked by parked cars. This also applies even if there are no special road markings.
As only residents are allowed to park in the old town area, we assume that parking is agreed upon between neighbors and that further parking markings are unnecessary.
Further work on the MoselPark Zell in the Mosel area will begin shortly. As far as possible, the parking spaces there will remain free of charge. The same applies to the future parking lot on the site of the demolished municipal administration building.
We kindly ask you to inform holiday guests about these free parking spaces.
