Dear festival visitors, dear people of Merl!
From August 9 to 11, it's finally time again for the Merl Wine Festival! Look forward to a weekend full of highlights for young and old, organized by the Merler Weinfreunde e.V. and the Merler Junggesellenverein 1857 e.V. We can hardly wait and are really looking forward to seeing you!
The festival weekend starts on Friday, August 9, at 6:00 pm with the collection of the Zell wine majesties from the Treis sparkling wine cellar. The opening ceremony by the Merler Weinfreunde and the Merler Junggesellen, accompanied by the town mayor Hans-Peter Döpgen, the VG mayor Jürgen Hoffmann and the Zell wine majesties, will take place at 19:00. From 20:00, BETOBE will provide a first-class experience before the traditional Bacchus procession with entourage takes place at 22:00.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with the big “Big Bottle Party” from 6 pm at the small wine stand - just perfect for getting in the mood for the infamous “Merler Roas”. The wine fountain and the men's carousel will also be open at this time.
Saturday, August 10, begins with coffee and waffles. At 3 p.m., the Chapiteau Theater will present the “Singing Contest of the Animals”, a special highlight for younger guests (admission €3 incl. drinks voucher). Every child who visits the theater receives a free drink. At 16:00, the Zeller Kätzchen will delight the audience with their dance, while the Eifel-Karree will entertain the children. From 16:30, Wenkerschorsch takes over the musical entertainment with his guitar and keyboard. The evening is crowned by the Gerd Blume Show from 21:00, which invites you to a pompous evening of hits and dancing.
On Sunday, August 11, the day begins at 11:00 a.m. with a festive church service on the fairground, followed by a morning pint. From 13:00, the Orchester-Vereinigung der Stadt Zell (Mosel) e.V. will play and provide musical entertainment, while lunch will be served by Moll-Catering with regional dishes from the wood-fired oven. From 14:00 there will be time for coffee and cake, accompanied by a magic show with Pascal Thomas (admission free). At 15:30 Tobi Goldschmidt will perform with #vocals and #guitar. The evening begins at 19:00 with the guitar duo “Love On The Rocks”, who will provide an atmospheric finale with saxophone and songs from the Beatles, CCR, Fleetwood Mac to Amy Winehouse.
Delicious cocktails from the Prickelbar and regional specialties from Moll-Catering await you throughout the festival. Admission is free on all days and this year, cashless payment is again possible at the wine stands.
The buses will run on a regular timetable so that you can get to us in comfort.
We look forward to seeing you there and wish you all the best,
The festival committee of the Merler Weinfreunde e.V. and the Junggesellenverein Merl 1857 e.V.
