"...from the town hall" - 08.11.2024

Dear fellow residents

When we travel, we want and expect the landscape or city we visit to look neat and tidy. We enjoy public cleanliness and a well-groomed appearance.

What we expect elsewhere, one would think, also applies to us at home.

Unfortunately, the image of our town has recently changed somewhat in this respect, to the extent that some homeowners believe that they do not have to clean the street in front of their property or remove any weeds that appear. Even if not every weed that grows up is removed, the conditions that can be found in some places are not only detrimental to the image of our city. They also reflect negatively on the residents.

We have photographed a few examples for you.

It is not necessary to use official letters and orders to clean the streets, which also includes the removal of uncontrolled growth. With a little good will, this problem can certainly be solved.

Your fellow residents thank you for a clean appearance in our town.

Change of personnel

After more than 6 years of service in the city administration, our employee, Ms. Andrea Münster, has retired. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to her for the trusting and excellent cooperation. During her time with us, she always had an open ear for the many problems and concerns of our fellow residents. One of her outstanding qualities was her ability to remain calm and maintain an overview, even when things got hectic. Her contractual presence was only an indication of her cooperation. This resulted in many, many hours outside of her normal working hours, which she can now use for family “assignments” as part of a “lifetime working time account”.

All employees in the town of Zell (Mosel) wish our Andrea many more wonderful years with her family in the best possible health.

As soon as a successor has been contractually appointed, I will inform our fellow residents.

Our employee, Ms. Marlies Köhler, will continue to be available to our citizens as a contact person and will always have an “open ear” for all their worries and needs.

Bridge construction site

At the time of writing, construction work on the B 53 ("Autobrücke") has been underway for several days. The extensive traffic management is being carried out on behalf of the Landesbetriebes Mobilität (LBM) Cochem-Koblenz. If you have any complaints or suggestions for improvements, please contact the LBM in Cochem directly.

I wish you all a pleasant week

Your

Town Mayor
Hans-Peter Döpgen
