Great interest in the New Year's reception of the town of Zell (Moselle) on 17.01.2025
Many residents accepted the invitation to this year's New Year's reception of the town of Zell (Mosel) on 17.01.2025 and so the town mayor Hans-Peter Döpgen was able to welcome numerous guests to the packed “Zeller Schwarze Katz” hall on Friday evening.
In his New Year's address, the town mayor gave an overview of the town's activities over the past year and explained planned projects and measures in the town of Zell for this and the coming years. Photos of the year in review complemented the entertaining speech.
In the same way, VG Zell mayor Jürgen Hoffmann provided information on the tasks of the municipality.
Mayor Hans-Peter Döpgen also took the opportunity this year to honor deserving individuals. This time, he focused on residents who contribute to the common good in their free time without an organization “behind them”. He honored the "Bürgerinitiative zum Erhalt des Krankenhauses Zell”, the village teams from Kaimt and Merl, the initiators of the games afternoon for senior residents, the group “Wir für Zell” and three employees of the Zell building yard for their civil courage.
Committed residents who volunteer to implement a wide range of activities and measures in the town are a great asset for the town and should be a motivation for others, says Döpgen.
In 2025, the Förderverein der Kita St. Marien Zell-Barl will be celebrating 10 years, the Merler Weinfreunde 20 years, the Sportverein 100 years and the Freiwillige Feuerwehr 125 years. The mayor offered his warmest congratulations.
In his words of thanks, Mayor Döpgen included all volunteers, members of the town council, employees of the town and association municipality, clubs, the wine sovereigns and all those who are involved in any way.
Musical accompaniment was provided by Ms. Angelika Henrichs on the grand piano and the Zeller Orchestervereinigung, while the Ingelheim Konfettis delighted the audience with evergreens.
At the end of the official program, Wine Queen Maja and Wine Princess Laura had the honour of announcing the winners of the 2024 Christmas tree competition, in which 19 creative groups took part and more than 700 people cast their votes!
This year, after the count, two participants had the exact same number of votes, so that two first places and one third place could be announced.
