As already announced, the Zell-Barl local heating project will be continued. The new heat supply contract and the new fee model were presented at the citizens' info event on 18.07.2023. Subsequently, all participants in the renewed demand survey (March to May 2023), including existing customers as well as new customers, received their new contract documents.
The great response shows that the topic and thus also the interest in local heating are unbroken. Fortunately, many potential new customers have now also expressed an interest in a local heating connection.
As presented by the Kreiswerke, it is now in the hands of the Barl community whether together they will succeed in reaching the necessary number of participants for the implementation of the project. If the desired state subsidy is then granted, the local heating network can be realised.

The Kreiswerke have stated that customer acquisition must be completed by 15.08.2023 in order to keep to the schedule for the possible use of additional state funding. New customers should therefore request their offer by 04.08.2023 at the latest!!!
For questions and the receipt of the signed heat supply contracts, a 2nd citizens' consultation will take place on Tuesday, 01.08.2023 in the time from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m. in the training room (basement) of the Mittelmosel Clinic, Barlstraße 7, Zell-Barl! In addition, the heat supply contract can also be handed in or posted directly to Mr. Hans-Peter Döpgen, Mayor of the town, Amselweg 2, Zell-Barl!!!
The running monthly costs for local heating are currently between € 160 and € 240, depending on the connection capacity and the required heat demand. In addition, a one-off flat-rate house connection fee of € 8,200 has to be paid. Local heating thus offers a climate-friendly and economically attractive supply alternative in the long term and also a high degree of supply security and independence.
The town of Zell is very pleased that after the termination of the project due to the crisis, a continuation of the project is now possible and that an attractive offer can be made. The implementation of a local heating network is a unique opportunity for Zell-Barl, it is forward-looking and will have a very positive effect on the further development of our high city district. However, this can only succeed if the broad support that existed in the population at the beginning of the project is maintained. Every single person counts! We have it in our own hands to realise this project together!
