New cycle path Barl - B 53
The planned expansion of the cycle path from Barl towards Marienburg on the existing forest path from Barl to the B 53 is expected to begin on 28.10.2024.
Corray children's playground
The construction phase in the area of MoselPark Zell in the Corray area has been completed. The children's playground has been redesigned and extended. It has been approved for use. However, there is still some minor work to be done, such as planting hedges around the playground. This will be done shortly. As soon as all the work has been completed, we will be able to inaugurate the playground and open it up for the children to stay and play. Please be patient until then. Incidentally, the boulders in the playground area are deliberately positioned and represent a design element. There is no risk of accidents.
Further construction work in MoselPark Zell
Now that the work in the 3rd construction phase (parking lot - promenade - playground) has been completed, preparations are underway for the tendering of the renovation work in the area of the old train station and the parking lots in the southern area.
This requires extensive preparations and visually brings the work to a standstill. Following the invitation to tender and award of the contract, the renovation work will continue.
Vigil and residents' petition to preserve our hospital
The discussions and demands for the preservation of our hospital in Zell (Mosel) continue.
Every Monday evening, we gather for a vigil in front of the hospital to show that we do not agree with the current solution and the planned closure of our local healthcare facilities. More and more people are gathering there at 7.00 pm. At the last vigil before this article was written, 250 people were on site and declared both verbally and by showing up that we do not agree with the concept presented.
In addition to the weekly vigils, a residents' petition has now also been launched with the following question:
“Should the district of Cochem-Zell examine the possibilities of a joint care concept on the basis of objective analyses and including alternative inpatient concepts and pilot projects (formation of focal points of inpatient emergency care) and work towards interim financing, possibly with municipal participation, until the associated investigations and negotiations have been completed and use the time thus gained to clear up obvious ambiguities?”
Lists for registering and signing are available in many places. In order to successfully submit the petition to the district council, 6 percent of the voters eligible to vote in the district council elections must sign the petition.
Please enter your name legibly in the list and do not forget to sign. Otherwise the entry will unfortunately not be valid.
The deadline for submission is Saturday, November 30, 2024.
In the hope and the wish that many residents will join the petition, I greet you
Your Mayor
