"...from the town hall"

27.03.2026

Dear fellow residents,

Parking in the downtown area of Zell has now proven effective thanks to parking meters and, in particular, the resident parking permits for cars, demonstrating that there is sufficient parking space available along the streets.

Discussions with residents are still planned for the Old Town area, where “resident parking” is in effect, in order to further improve parking conditions there.

Unfortunately, residents in this area repeatedly complain that their front doors or cellar entrances are blocked by parked cars. Since only residents who hold the green “resident parking permit” are authorized to park in the old town, we assumed that the neighborhood would come to an understanding and show mutual consideration. Unfortunately, there is still a need for additional regulations here. We intend to address this in the coming days.

In this regard, we must point out that only residents with a primary residence are permitted to park permanently in the resident parking zone. Others, such as those with a secondary residence or vacation guests, are allowed to load and unload. However, they must then use other parking areas.

Kaimt Schoolyard

The schoolyard of the former elementary school in Kaimt was partially leased to third parties on a long-term basis. All of these leases have been terminated. We intend to renovate the schoolyard in the near future to improve its appearance. Until the renovation is complete, we plan to apply the positive experience we’ve had with parking in Zell’s downtown area to the schoolyard.

The schoolyard is municipal private property. Until work begins, anyone who possesses the municipal “Car Parking Permit”—green this year—and displays it in their vehicle may park there. Only cars may park in the schoolyard. No RVs, trailers, or agricultural vehicles. A parking meter will not be installed in the schoolyard.

We assume that residents of Kaimt have regularly applied for and received such a parking permit, so no additional costs will be incurred for them. If not, please apply for the parking permit at the town administration using the form provided, which you can find here.

We hope that this will provide local residents, in particular, with a convenient opportunity to use the schoolyard at a reasonable rate until construction begins.

With this in mind, I wish everyone a pleasant week and a peaceful time preparing for Easter.

Sincerely,

Mayor

Hans-Peter Döpgen
