Dear fellow residents
Next Thursday, the City Council will meet at 6 p.m. to discuss and vote on various land-use plans in our city, among other things.
I would like to draw your attention to the announcement with the agenda items.
The council members will discuss the concerns and suggestions received in the Kaimt-Nord III and Kaimt-Süd area Freiwies procedures and initiate further steps in the land-use planning procedure. Planning for bus parking spaces will be initiated for the former Bamberg transshipment site. This is necessary because no bus parking spaces will be designated in the area of the Moselvorgeländes Zell in favor of more green spaces. In future, these are to be set up below the elementary school on the brownfield site of the former gravel storage area.
As I wrote in the last "... from the town hall", the implementation phase will begin with the work on the conversion of the Mosel forecourt. We would like to present the current planning again in an agenda item to inform the council members and all citizens.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold this meeting in the town hall. It is occupied that evening. We will therefore be meeting in the council chamber of the town hall.
The Moselle foreshore will become a park. We don't want to forget the banks of the Moselle in Kaimt. Here, too, we have ideas on how to make the banks of the Moselle more attractive. The working group as part of the village renewal program has put a lot of thought into this. All of this is to be summarized in a study. The results of this study will later be incorporated into a formal land-use planning procedure, which will also involve the local population in the planning process.
Visit to Plonsk
Our twin town of Plonsk in Poland has been awarded the third level of the European Prize, the "Plaque of Honor", by the European Assembly for its services to European partnerships. At the invitation of the city of Plonsk, I took part in the award ceremony organized by the Council of Europe. On the same day, the new central square in the municipality was also inaugurated and the patronal feast of St. Michael took place. The city of Plonsk presented the delegations from its twin towns with a smaller version of the badge of honor as a memento of the award ceremony.
The warm welcome once again showed that the city of Plonsk is very interested in a solid and fruitful cooperation across national borders. There is a particular interest in establishing permanent contacts between schools, clubs and youth parliaments.
It is in these connections that the main content and strength of a town twinning lies. I would be delighted if contact with Plonsk and our two other twin towns, Crépy-en-Valois and Antoing, were to be cultivated and further developed on a variety of levels in the future.
SAVE THE DATE
St. Martin:
The end of the year is approaching and with it the events that usually bring the year to a close or usher in the new one. I would like to draw your attention to the following dates today:
Traditional parade with St. Martin. After Kaimt and last year on the Barl, the St. Martin's torchlight procession organized by the town of Zell (Mosel) will start this year on Friday, 10 November at 18.00 h in Merl at Kampplatz. The town of Zell will sponsor a fresh pretzel for every parade participant up to the age of 14 and have it handed out by St. Martin.
St. Catherine's market / Christmas market
The "Katharinenmarkt" combined with the weekly market will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Balduinstraße. For this year's Krammarkt before Christmas, we also invite you to Balduinstraße again on Tuesday, December 12.
Next year, the parade will then go through the old town of Zell.
Residents' meeting
Now that the corona pandemic has largely subsided, we would like to invite our residents to a residents' meeting in the town hall again. Here we would like to talk about and provide information on topics of general interest. If topics of general interest are proposed, please let me know in good time. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Senior Christmas party
Once again this year, the sponsoring company from Kastellaun is inviting our senior citizens to a Christmas party in the town hall. Please make a note: Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 2.00 pm.
New Year's reception 2024
The New Year's reception of the town of Zell (Mosel) for our citizens will once again take place in the town hall on Friday, January 5, 2023. Musical accompaniment will be provided by soprano Agnes Selma Weiland.

The next day (Saturday, January 6), Ms. Weiland will once again give a concert in the Stadthalle. The title of the concert "Women are not angels" promises an enjoyable evening with many well-known and popular melodies by Marlene Dietrich, Zara Leander and many other UFA stars of the 30s and 40s.
